This multimodal translation will address cyberbullying and its psychological and academic
impact on adolescents. My presentation will include a presentation of the topic, a mini play with
fake chat conversations, and quick audience participation. The goal is to show how online
messages can seem harmless but have long-lasting consequences.
Part 1-Introduction by me-1 min: Cyberbullying consists of sending hurtful messages or posting
photos or videos to intimidate someone. A simple joke, message, or comment can quickly turn
into something hurtful. In just a few seconds, someone’s confidence, mood, or whole day can
change because of what happens online. I want to show how it can have a lasting impact on the
victim’s mental health and academic performance.
Part 2-Mini play with two students-45 seconds: In this section, two students will play the bully
and the victim, reading from the fake chat conversations that I prepared.

Part 3-Explanation of possible consequences of that conversation by me-1mn15seconds: This
mini play was an example of how cyberbullying often begins. Sometimes people send messages
without thinking about how the other person might feel. In this scenario, there are two possibleoutcomes.
First, the victim will probably feel embarrassed, questioning himself, trying to figure
out what is wrong with him, what does that person call him loser or stupid. Second, the victim
might also decide not to go to that class anymore because he doesn’t want to face that person and
go through that same humiliation. So, not only will it affect him mentally because he would no
longer have confidence in himself, but if they decide not to show up to that class anymore, they
could probably fail. This is a clear example of how cyberbullying can affect a young person’s life
just because of a quick conversation.
Part 4-Audience interaction-1mn 15 seconds: Let’s say the person sending the message is your
friend, and you see them bullying someone online. Would you support your friend because
you’re close to them? Would you try to defend the person being targeted?
Part 5- Conclusion-45seconds: In conclusion, Cyberbullying has been a serious issue for many
years, and it continues to affect countless adolescents today. Sometimes, it starts with a few
messages or a joke that goes too far. These small actions might seem insignificant, but for
someone else, they can create long-lasting effects on their mental, social, and even academic
development. We should always be mindful, responsible, and considerate when using any social
media platforms.
