While conducting that interview, I gained some valuable insights into how gender expectations
operate across personal, social, and economic spheres. Reflecting on my own perspective, I noticed
both similarities and contrasts between us. I certainly agree with her view that societal expectations
can limit freedom of choice and create pressures, especially for women, who often face judgments
when stepping outside traditional roles. However, I disagreed with her perspective on sports. From
my perspective, some sports are more suited for men, not because women are fragile or unable to
handle pressure, but because certain physical activities may require extra effort. Nonetheless, I
fully support women who choose to participate in sports and strongly advocate for people to have
the freedom to choose their own path, regardless of gender. I also agreed with her belief that social
media can be a powerful tool for raising awareness about gender issues, as it is one of the most
widely used platforms today. In conclusion, this transcultural interview essay was a great
experience. I really got to learn and expand my understanding of gender expectations and how it
has been impacting human lives.
