At the beginning of this project, I struggled to choose a topic, but I finally settled on focusing on
cyberbullying and its effects on mental well-being and academic performance among adolescents.
Cyberbullying is a very broad and sensitive topic; during my research, I had to narrow it down to
focus on the aspect that I truly wanted to investigate. It was not easy to find the right academic
sources, and I spent a lot of time reading, highlighting. This essay required a lot more effort from
me than I expected; it challenged me not only to gather information but to analyze it make
connections, and build the essay . As I reviewed different studies, I became more aware of how
cyberbullying can deeply damage not only their mental well-being but also their academic
performance among adolescents. Sometimes, we tend to underestimate the seriousness of
cyberbullying because it happens so casually online, often with just a few clicks and a few words.
It can take only seconds for someone to send a hurtful message, but for the victim, the damage can
last months, years, or even a lifetime. Overall, this essay helped me grow academically and have
a better understanding of how cyberbullying affects both psychological well-being and academic
performance among adolescents and how quickly it can change the course of someone’s life.
